Quatermain's Journal
This is my interpretation of one of history's most remarkable artifacts.
Although the Bible provides dimensions and descriptions, many details remain open to interpretation. Rather than reproducing another artist's work, I chose to begin with Scripture itself and allow the remaining details to develop naturally through the build.
Every piece was made by hand. Every decision was deliberate.
Whether viewed simply as craftsmanship or as an exploration of biblical history, I hope this reconstruction encourages visitors to pause, observe and perhaps ask a few more questions than they arrived with.
The Mystery
The Ark of the Covenant remains one of the most discussed and sought-after sacred objects in history. Its final location is unknown, and its story continues to sit between scripture, legend, archaeology and imagination.
That uncertainty is part of its power. The Ark endures not only as an object, but as a symbol of covenant, presence, authority and loss.
Additional Archive Photograph
A second view showing the proportions of the completed reconstruction. From this angle the carrying poles, gold finish and decorative features can be seen more clearly.
Quatermain Field Observation
