Biography
David Hardware is a British author, actor, creator and founder of Quatermain Official. His work combines books, games, original artifacts and film, bringing together a lifelong fascination with exploration, mystery, history and curiosity.
As an actor, David portrayed Allan Quatermain, a role that helped shape many of the themes of adventure, symbolism and discovery found throughout his later creative work.
Screen Work
In 2023, David portrayed Allan Quatermain in the British feature film Allan Quatermain and the Spear of Destiny. During production, he also created the original hero Spear used on screen, which now forms part of The Quatermain Archive.
Following military service as a chef, David worked in film and television location catering, including work connected to major productions. His career later expanded into film production and studio development, leading to the creation of 369 Film Studios Leicester.
The Quatermain Files
The Quatermain Files is a series of three short productions exploring the mysteries of the Nazi Gold Train, the treasure of Lake Toplitz and the lost Amber Room.

Books, Games and Artifacts
David's published and developing works include I Am David, Quatermain's Quatrains, the After Dark Minis series and additional books currently in development.
David is the creator of GridIron, an original word discovery game, with further game projects planned under Quatermain Official.
The Quatermain Archive continues to grow with original creations, historical reproductions, props, display pieces and shop items, many designed or built by David as part of the expanding Quatermain world.
The Quatermain Archive & Emporium
The Archive & Emporium is a growing collection of objects connected to exploration, mystery, storytelling and discovery. Some pieces are display only, while others may later appear through the Quatermain Official Emporium.
Rather than existing as separate projects, the books, games, artifacts and archive entries are designed to connect with one another, creating a wider world for readers, players and collectors to explore.
