Kamea Cube

A Puzzle of Mathematics, Pattern and Discovery

Current Status: Design and Pre-production

Kamea Cube is an original Quatermain puzzle-game concept inspired by mathematical relationships, hidden patterns and the challenge of recognising connections that are not immediately visible.

The Concept

The central idea is to create a puzzle that does not reveal its complete structure from a single viewpoint. Information, symbols and possible solutions are distributed across a cube-based design, requiring the player to consider how separate elements may belong to a larger pattern.

The cube is intended to be more than decoration. Its form is part of the problem. A choice made on one face may influence how the player interprets another, encouraging rotation, comparison and careful observation.

Kamea Cube is being designed to reward patience rather than speed alone. The player must look for order, test possible relationships and decide whether an apparent solution is genuine or merely another layer of the puzzle.

Current Development

Kamea Cube is presently in design and pre-production. Proposed screen designs and a working rules framework have been created, establishing how the game may look and how its central challenge may operate.

Coding has not yet begun, and no claim is made that the images shown here represent a functioning digital build. They are concept designs used to examine presentation, player information, structure and atmosphere before technical development starts.

A physical prototype has also not yet been constructed. That stage will follow only when the proposed system has been developed far enough to justify practical testing.

This concept screen explores the intended visual identity and presentation of Kamea Cube. It is design artwork rather than a screenshot from a completed game.

Design Principles

Proposed Rules

Concept notice: These rules form part of the current design process. They may change when coding, prototype construction and practical play-testing begin.

The Development Path

The next stage is not simply to make the concept look finished. The proposed rules must first be translated into a functioning digital structure so that each interaction can be tested.

Once an initial build exists, testing will determine whether the puzzle communicates clearly, whether its difficulty develops fairly and whether the cube genuinely contributes to the solution rather than merely disguising it.

Only after those questions are answered will the project be ready for wider play-testing or consideration as a physical Quatermain item.

An Original Concept by David Hardware

Kamea Cube was conceived by David Hardware as part of the Quatermain game collection. It reflects a recurring Quatermain principle: the visible object is rarely the whole answer.

The project remains deliberately open during pre-production. A strong concept must survive contact with rules, coding and real players before it can be called a finished game.
