How to play Pyramid Patience

Clear all 28 cards from the pyramid. The cards are dealt face up in seven overlapping rows. The remaining 24 cards form the stock.

  1. Use exposed cards only. A pyramid card becomes available once both cards immediately below it have been removed. The bottom row starts exposed.
  2. Remove pairs adding up to 13. Select one available card, then its partner. An ace is 1, a jack 11, a queen 12 and a king 13. Kings are removed alone.
  3. Draw one card at a time. Click the face-down stock to move its top card to the waste pile. Only the top waste card is available. Pair it with an exposed pyramid card, or remove it alone if it is a king. Removing it reveals the card beneath.
  4. Two redeals are allowed. When the stock is empty, click it to turn the remaining waste pile over without shuffling. You have three passes through the stock altogether.
  5. Win by clearing the pyramid. You do not have to clear the stock or waste. After your final stock pass, if no legal removals remain, the deal is blocked. Undo can take you back to try another choice.

Some shuffled deals cannot be cleared. Undo is available, and a new deal gives you a fresh pyramid. Progress is saved automatically in this browser.

Field tip: choose pairs that uncover useful cards. Removing a pair immediately is not always the best route through the pyramid.
